| Description | This subseries relates to the field study trip that Hilda Margaret Whitaker née Hodge joined a study expedition with the Sumatran Field Studies Council, the second of her visits to the wider South East Asia region, travelling this time throughout Malaysia and Indonesia, where she immersed herself in exploring the mangrove swamps, forests and bat caves, often on foot. Amongst the party on the trip was the noted naturalist, Dr. Gathorne Gathorne-Hardy, 5th Earl of Cranbrook. |
