9 page handwritten letter of response from Jean Rintoul with her reminiscences of the college, including: memories of various staff members; the impact of male students coming to the college; the move from Kirkby to the Hazels; memories of the grounds, gardens and the quarry before expansion and the motorway being built through the quarry; ghost stories relating to the Hazels; memories of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, who had been the Pilkington family's Head Gardener and Head Cook and then remained working for the college; Motto magazine and a brief anecdote relating to Paul McCartney and the Beatles; the expansion of the college under Mr. Clarke as Principal; the achievements and character of Dr. Farr.
Miss Rintoul also refers to enclosed photographs and names a number of the staff in them. These are likely to be photographs also held in this collection (see related material);
