Description | Built during the 1730s, Chapel House was better known as The Cocoa Rooms and could be found on Kirkby Row, almost opposite what is now James Holt Avenue. It was the only real shop in Kirkby. Upstairs was used for meetings and it served as a local library in the 1920s. The building was also used for stabling churchgoers' horses on Sundays, and it supplied refreshments |
