| Description | Robert Atherton, born in Liverpool in 1861, was the son of Robert Atherton and Ellen Hesketh. Known as Robin O'Bobs, he became a wandering poet after losing his post as Rector of St Dunstan's Parish Church, Bolnhurst, Bedfordshire in 1904. He also used the pseudonym Rupert Upperton, and called himself 'The Lancashire Burns'. He lived at Pear Tree Farm, Kirkby and died in 1930 |
