| Description | Bundle with three copies of the St. Helens Corporation Act, 1898: an Act to authorise the construction of tramways in and near the borough of St. Helens, to extend the boundaries of that borough and to confer further powers on the Corporation of St. Helens in regard to streets, buildings, sewers and drains and the health, local government and improvement of the borough and for other purposes. One of the copies is a foolscap edition with contents pages and also includes a single, handwritten page of notes referring to the St Helens Borough Improvement Act (1869), the St. Helens Act (1893) and the St Helens Corporation Act (1898). The bundle also includes two smaller editions of the Act, without contents but including a number of annotations and underlined passages. |
