The Banner Brothers were contracted to construct: 10 brick houses at the Stoney Lane Farm Estate, Rainhill; 14 'Airey' houses at Stoney Lane, Rainhill, Willow Avenue, Whiston and The Avenue, Eccleston; 18 'Airey' houses at Carr Lane, Hale and Trent Road, Rainhill; and 6 'Airey' houses at Willow Avenue, Whiston. The dispute relates to timber costs and the bundle includes arbitration papers.
Bundle includes: summary of the contract between Whiston R.D.C. and the Banner Bros. and items in dispute; various papers describing the points of dispute; Points of Defence Arbitration Papers (September 1955) and draft copies with handwritten notes; report on timber price fluctuations; correspondence with Leslie W.M.
